Super Mario Brothers World 6 Tips
World 6-1
Step 1
Jumping on Bullet Bills is a good way both to defeat an enemy and to bounce to higher areas of this stage. When you tire of timing their blasts, you can stand near the cannons and catch a breather – they won’t fire at an adjacent target.
Step 2
Mario must sidle across thin ledges at point 2, which forces him to move slowly and restricts his jumping ability. To slip under Bullet Bills, press down to hang from your fingertips on the ledge.
Step 3
By bouncing off of Bullet Bills, you can leap above the ledge and jump to a shortcut that will take you directly to the flagpole. If you are Mini Mario, you can enter a minipipe on the upper level that leads to a room full of Mini Goombas. Dodge them until you get a Starman from the ? block, then wall jump up the left wall and kill the Goombas for a 1-up.
Step 4
If you are coming from the left, sidle past the star coin until the Bullet Bill cannons stop firing. You can then head back to grab the coin safely.
World 6-A
Step 1
Cloudjacking Lakitus is as fun as it has ever been, but in this part of the level, their clouds won’t get you anywhere you couldn’t reach otherwise.
Step 2
The cyclone at point 2 serves as a giant spin block, propelling you high enough to glide into the star coin. If you need a mid-air boost, perform a spinning drill stomp on a Lakitu to gain some elevation.
Step 3
The quicksand at point 3 conceals a pipe to a hidden area. Wall jump as you fall through it to snag the star coin, since wall jumping from the bottom can be tough.
Step 4
The yellow pipe at point 4 will take you to a room with a star coin you can grab by long-jumping over the giant piranha plant. A row of invisible blocks makes it impossible to leave the pipe area, so you will need to head back through the pipe, and either steal a Lakitu cloud or long-jump across.
World 6 Tower
Step 1
Proceed through the tower slowly, moving up only immediately after the spiked pillars retract, and keeping an eye out for places where you can crouch beneath them. At point 1, dash all the way to the end and crouch in the crevasse. Wait for the pillar to retract before you jump for the star coin and move on.
Step 2
Jump atop the super dry bones and hold down the jump button to bounce off of its head and into the ? block and the coin block above.
Step 3
Reaching the pipe above the boss door will take some world-class wall jumping. The walls are pretty far apart, but you can gain height gradually if you do a running jump at the right edge of the ledge where the boss door is and keep at it. If you have a mini mushroom, use it to make the task much easier.
